racerr (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at racerr-prod.onrender.com and related services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We’re a small team based in Australia. Our practices are governed by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

• Account informationWhen you sign up we collect your email address and (optionally) name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile fields from Google.
• Activity on racerrEvents you favourite, races you save to your calendar, and entries you record in your race log.
• Technical dataStandard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URLs) used to diagnose errors and prevent abuse.
• CookiesA session cookie to keep you signed in, a CSRF cookie for form security, and a small theme-preference value stored in your browser’s local storage.

We use your information to:

— Run your account, show your saved events, and send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset).
— Improve search results, fix bugs, and protect the service from abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We don’t share it with advertisers and we don’t use it to train third-party AI models.

We share information only with service providers needed to run racerr — our hosting provider (Render), email delivery, and map/geocoding APIs. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.

We may disclose information if required by law (court order, lawful request from an Australian regulator, etc.).

Your data is stored on managed infrastructure in the United States. We use HTTPS for all traffic, hash passwords, and apply standard security practices.

No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password, and let us know promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised.

• Update or deleteYou can update or delete your account at any time from your profile page.
• Request a copyEmail us and we’ll send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We’ll also correct or delete it if you ask.
• Email preferencesUnsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in the email footer.

racerr is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe we hold information about a child under 13, contact us and we’ll delete it.

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of racerr after a change means you accept the updated policy.
