/ Legal · Terms

The rules of the road.

By accessing or using racerr you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Plain English where we can manage it; lawyer-shaped where we can’t.

/01   What racerr is

A directory. Not a registration platform.

racerr is a free, independent directory of running events in Australia. We aggregate event information and link out to the official organiser or registration site.

racerr is not the organiser, promoter, or seller of any event listed and does not handle race entries or payments.

/02   Your account

What we expect.

  • Accurate infoYou must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your credentials confidential.
  • Account responsibilityYou are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • AgeYou must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • SuspensionWe may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, scrape content, or violate these terms.
/03   Event information

Always confirm with the organiser.

We make reasonable efforts to keep event details accurate, but information is sourced from organiser websites and may change without notice.

Always confirm dates, distances, prices and entry requirements with the official event organiser before registering or travelling. We’re a directory — the source of truth is the organiser.

/04   User-submitted content

You keep ownership.

If you submit content to racerr (favourite notes, race log entries, etc.), you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and use that content as needed to operate the service. You retain ownership.

Don’t submit anything unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you don’t have the rights to share.

/05   Acceptable use

The lines we draw.

  • No bulk scrapingDon’t scrape, copy or redistribute racerr’s data at scale without our written permission.
  • No tamperingDon’t attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • No abuseDon’t use racerr to harass other users or to send spam.
/06   Third-party links

We don’t control those sites.

racerr links to external websites — organisers, registration platforms, maps. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.

/07   Disclaimers

“As is.”

racerr is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of event information.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

/08   Limitation of liability

The boundary.

To the extent permitted by law, racerr is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service — including loss caused by inaccurate event information, missed registrations, or third-party site failures.

/09   Changes

If terms move, you’ll know.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

/10   Governing law

NSW, Australia.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Questions about the terms?

We’re happy to explain.

If something here is unclear or you’d like a plain-English read on a specific clause, just ask.
